Maxab is a B2B company serving local retailers in underserved areas in Egypt and Africa by providing
the following primary services: in-stock groceries, bill aggregation, and credit (BNPL)
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of MaxAB's app, focusing on different sections and customer
touch points. Feel free to highlight sections where you think there’s an opportunity for
improvement and clearly mention the reason behind it.
- Assume you are the product manager responsible for the retailer app (end-to-end) at Maxab;
propose 3 solutions for the following theoretical problem statement and prioritize the proposals:
20% of Maxab’s GMV is lost due to pre-delivery cancellations (5%), delivery failure -
refusal to receive goods at delivery (5%), and partial deliveries (10%). This leads to lost
revenues and unnecessary fulfillment and delivery costs.
Solutions should aim to capture the potential revenues and save cost. Kindly detail any
assumption made and the thought process behind each of your proposals and prioritization
logic.
- Case Study: Optimizing Warehousing and Inventory Management in the Logistics Operations of
MaxAB
Background:
MaxAB, a leading logistics company, offers a range of core services, one of them is
warehousing and inventory management. One critical aspect of their operations involves the
order placement process, fleet dispatch, and debriefing cycles. Currently, customers place
orders throughout the day, and the fleet is dispatched the following morning. Deliveries are
made as per a predefined runsheet, and upon return to the warehouse, delivery agents engage
in a debriefing process; in the debriefing process, it is expected that the agent can come back
with missing/damaged SKUs. In order to be able to record this on the system, what they do is
they create a new SKU to be able to record this, create a new packing unit, or they do not
record it at all and put the damaged inventory aside until they figure out a way to sell it offline.
Please provide your analysis and proposed solution for addressing the challenges in this
process.
